“Shouldn’t your website say more stuff? I mean… don’t you work in marketing? How are people supposed to know what you do or why they should give you money? What’s the deal?”
Yeah… about that. Maybe. Probably even. Ok here is the deal – I’ve been working in this space for 12+ years now and have built up enough of a reputation that 90% of my work comes via referrals. My marketing strategy is literally “do a good job, hope people say nice things”.
For the type of lifestyle I want to live, this is working well enough. If I wanted to grow a multi-million-dollar-a-year agency this wouldn’t be a smart or very scalable strategy. That said, please don’t take this as an indication of the level of effort I’d put in for a client. Needless to say, I couldn’t live off of referral work if I didn’t do a damn good job.
Want to know more? I’m always happy to jump on a call and see if we might be a good fit. Generally, I’m willing to entertain retainer engagements in the $5K/mo+ range or one-off projects of basically any size, provided they are interesting enough.
